Charlotte Green Initiative Grant Writing Workshop: Tuesday, Oct 1, 5pm – 6pm, Student Union 340 C-F
Join the Charlotte Green Initiative student-led committee to learn best practices for writing effective grant proposals for green projects at UNC Charlotte.
Transportation Fair: Wednesday, Oct 2, 10am – 2pm, CHHS/CoEd Plaza
Join the Office of Sustainability and Parking and Transportation Services for the eighth annual Transportation Fair! Learn about the diverse modes of transportation available to you as a UNC Charlotte student, faculty, or staff member, and questions surrounding the safety, accessibility, affordability, and sustainability of transportation on campus and in the Charlotte region.
Student Sustainability Summit: Thursday, Oct 3, 5pm – 9pm, Lucas Room (Cone 341)
Join the Sustainability Office and representatives from the Student Government Association to learn about ways UNC Charlotte students can make positive change on campus! Meet and network with SGA representatives and administrators from across campus, brainstorm solutions, and work together to grow sustainability initiatives at UNC Charlotte!
UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens Fall Plant Sale: Thursday, Oct 3 (preview day for UNC Charlotte students, staff, and faculty) 12-4pm; Friday, Oct 4, 9am – 3pm; Saturday, Oct 5, 9am – 2pm. Lot 5
Fall is the best time to plant in our region, and it’s a great time to plan for spring blooms! You’ll find an outstanding selection of native and non-native hardy shrubs, trees, perennials, wildflowers, ferns and cool weather annuals.
Campus from a Drone’s Eye View: Thursday, Oct 10, 12pm – 1pm, Top floor of Union Parking Deck
Spend your lunch hour seeing campus from a drone’s perspective! Learn how UNC Charlotte Parking and Transportation Services uses drones to monitor and collect information for planning purposes on campus, and watch the drone in action from the Union Parking Deck. Registration is not required, but RSVP here to receive event updates and reminders.
Campus Beautification Day: Wednesday, Oct 16, 9am – 2pm (Postponed from Oct 9) , Check-In Tent near the Gage Undergraduate Admissions Center and Lot 8/South Village parking deck
Join us for a day of cleaning and beautifying the South Village part of our campus! Volunteers will assist university staff in litter pick up, brush removal, tree planting and other beautification projects.
Charlotte Harvest Exchange: Wednesday, Oct 23, 1:30pm – 3:30pm, Belk Plaza
The Levine Scholars in partnership with The Bulb will host a farmer’s market on campus offering UNC Charlotte students fresh local produce! Stop by to stock your pantry with fall produce.
Crafting Joy with Sustainable Decorations Workshop: Wednesday, Oct 23, 1pm – 3pm, Atkins Library Area 49 Makerspace
Drop in to make sustainable and reusable decorations for any of your upcoming celebrations. Fabric, cardboard, and other material will be provided for you to use and several decoration types to choose from. You can also bring something you’d like to upcycle or use in your creation.

NC Climate Week Webinars Sept 30 – Oct 3, online
September 30 – October 3 is NC Climate Week hosted by EarthShare NC. This annual initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of scalable climate solutions by bringing together individuals, businesses, environmental organizations, and local governments from across NC. These series of Climate Action webinars are free to the public.
SOL Nation UNEARTHED EJ Community Festival Oct 5, 10am – 10pm, MACFLY at Camp Northend 301 Camp St. Suite 106
A community event exposing environmental justice to the community through creative culture. The free event will feature an art exhibition and multiple vendors.
Biketoberfest Oct. 27, Noon to 6:30 pm, Triple C Brewing, 2900 Griffith Street, Charlotte, NC
