Adopt-a-Spot

Adopt-A-Spot Guidelines

Be a part of taking care of the campus community!

The Adopt-A-Spot program is an opportunity for your student club or organization to adopt and care for a designated spot on campus. We currently have over 30 university organizations that have adopted locations, but we have space for more!

If your organization is interested in hosting clean ups, but want to test it out before joining the Adopt-a-Spot program, let us know and we can assign you a spot for a clean up!

Steps to join Adopt-A-Spot

  1. Complete this interest form with information about your organization.
  2. Work with the Sustainability Office to choose your desired campus spot from the provided options and create your sign.
  3. Officially “Adopt-a-Spot” and organize regular clean-ups to care for your space!

Club/Organization Responsibilities

Your organization will be responsible for completing a minimum of TWO clean-ups per semester.

To complete a clean-up, please fill out this form to sign up for a clean-up . You will receive specific instructions on equipment pick up and collection result reporting when you make your reservation.

Please note that organizations/clubs MUST complete their routine clean-ups each semester. Incompletion of these clean-ups can result in losing the adopted campus spot.

Interested in hosting a clean-up but unsure about joining the Adopt-a-Spot program?

If you or your organization would like to host a campus clean-up but do not want to commit to joining the Adopt-a-Spot program, please complete this form at least ONE week before your clean-up. The Office of Sustainability can provide cleanup supplies, guidelines for conducting safe cleanups, and assign you a space on campus!

The Office of Sustainability also hosts Campus Beautification Days each semester in October and April, which are open to students, staff, faculty, and alumni to help us beautify a large area on campus. These full-day events usually involve tree plantings and litter cleanups. Check out our event page and Niner Engage to be the first to know when these events are scheduled!
