Staff are a critical part of campus sustainability initiatives, as they support and deliver the university’s mission. The Office of Sustainability has two programs to help staff learn and engage around sustainability at UNC Charlotte:

Sustainability Ambassadors

A Sustainability Ambassador is any staff or faculty member who wants to learn about the sustainability goals and practices of the university and take action.

Green Workplace

The purpose of this program is to recognize units that are addressing the sustainability goals of the university as they improve workplace practices.

The Green Workplace Program has benefited from the contributions of campus staff in an earlier program called Green Office that ran from 2015 to 2019. Here is a list of campus units that distinguished themselves in that earlier program.

A note for faculty

The Office of Sustainability also hosts annual “Sustainability in the Curriculum” workshops for teaching faculty. Visit our teaching page to learn more about sustainability in teaching at UNC Charlotte.
