The Office of Sustainability, the Charlotte Green Initiative (CGI) and the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted the Sustainability Summit, allowing students to engage with researchers, student leaders and local organizations about UNC Charlotte’s ecological efforts.

Every year, UNC Charlotte celebrates Earth Month throughout April. The Office of Sustainability, along with environmentally focused organizations in the area, are sponsoring a variety of events to celebrate the planet.

Did you know that the Office of Sustainability organizes sustainability in the curriculum workshops for faculty? Each spring for the past 10 years, UNC Charlotte faculty have led multi-day workshops to help colleagues network across disciplines, share ideas and discover new resources and pathways to incorporate sustainability into their courses.

The Office of Sustainability has launched the Green Workplace program, a performance improvement and recognition initiative to support campus units by addressing challenges, applying solutions and celebrating efforts to become more sustainable workplaces.

Hurricane Helene victims in western North Carolina desperately need access back to their community. UNC Charlotte students and Ashe County volunteers are partnering together to provide them that access.

Cai Fox joined UNC Charlotte in 2024 as the assessment coordinator in the Office of Sustainability. Fox coordinates data gathering, information management and reporting for the assessment of campus sustainability from initiatives to operations.
