Research

It is a point of pride that the description of UNC Charlotte in the Princeton Review Guide to Green Campuses (included since 2014) begins with our status as an urban research university and a list of research centers that excel at sustainability-related research. These include the Urban Institute and the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC).

The research capabilities of faculty and students is also instrumental in developing an understanding of sustainability issues and opportunities for campus operations. The Office of Sustainability collaborates with faculty on grant applications, students studying campus operations for course and degree program research projects, and with departments searching for capstone research experiences for their students.
